The 2010 Homeless Service Utilization Report is the fifth in a series of reports prepared by the Center on the Family at the University of Hawai‘i and the Homeless Programs Office of the Hawai‘i State Department of Human Services (DHS). Since the first Homeless Service Utilization Report was issued in 2006, the need for homeless services in the state has continued to grow, exacerbated by a declining and unstable economy.
2010 Hawaii Point in Time Count
The objective of this PIT Count was to obtain accurate information on Oahu’s sheltered and unsheltered homeless populations on January 25, 2010, in conjunction with:
⎫Obtaining an overall count of homeless individuals and households in specific subpopulations;
⎫Obtaining an estimate of the number of homeless singles and homeless households with children;
⎫Obtaining an estimate of the number of chronically homeless individuals according to HUD’s definition.

Oahu Housing Guide
The Oahu Housing Guide is a listing of housing projects on Oahu that serve the elderly, and is a project of the Elderly Affairs Division and the Housing Assistance Program of Catholic Charities Elderly Services. It is based on data originally collected under a contract from the Executive Office on Aging.

National Alliance of HUD Tenants
A multi-cultural, tenant-controlled alliance of tenant organizations in privately-owned, multifamily HUD-assisted housing. Hundreds of tenant associations representing thousands of tenants in every region of the country are already involved, working together to preserve affordable housing, protect tenant’s rights and promote tenant ownership and control.
National Housing Law Project
NHLP is the national backup center for housing attorneys at local legal service programs.
Center for Budget and Policy Priorities
The Center conducts research and analysis to inform public debates over proposed budget and tax policies and to help ensure that the needs of low-income families and individuals are considered in these debates. The Center's research on the short and long term impacts of various budget proposals, and it's layman friendly presentation of data makes this site an invaluable source to all low-income people.
National Coalition for the Homeless
A web site dedicated to Homelessness and ending Homelessness. This site contains great resources if you are homeless or about to become homeless.

This site is full of great data on the Loss of Affordable Housing, listed by state and is periodically updated.

Hawai‘i Public Housing Authority
The Hawaii Public Housing Authority (formerly the Housing and Community Development Corporation of Hawaii) helps provide Hawai‘i residents with affordable housing and shelter without discrimination. HPHA efforts focus on developing affordable rental and supportive housing, public housing and the efficient and fair delivery of housing services to the people of Hawai‘i.

United Way 211
211 is Hawaii's only comprehensive, statewide community information and referral service. 211 offers help finding food, shelter, drug treatment, childcare, job training and much more. Dialing 2-1-1 is free from all islands 24 hours a day, and all calls are confidential.

Data from the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s 2007 KIDS COUNT Data Book are now available online. The database allows you to generate custom graphs, maps, ranked lists, and state-by-state profiles; or, download the entire data set as delimited text files.
